"It is moments like this that remind me of why I spend an irresponsible amount of time and money on sound. To say that I usually conduct musicrelated activities in a blurry, amnesia-like state of mind without direction would be both incorrect and unfair to myself and the music, but these moments still exist: moments which stick out by shining brighter than those before and after, little notes which allow the addiction to music to be captured and explained in words. It is when I realise that I rank an Italian conceptalbum as the best release of 2006 that I hear fingernails against the blackboard and subsequently look up at it and read: "The unexpected and overwhelming". Because that is what it is all about; knowing that records like Disobbedisco! exist, records that appear out of nothing and remain towering monuments in ones own musical biography. My suspicion that the neofolk-scene (with its branches) had the potential to deliver a piece of this kind, ie. the kind one crowns with the prefix "master", was confirmed when it was about to weaken. Ianva is the culmination of everything the neofolk-, neoclassical-, martial-, blahblah-groupings ever have tried to accomplish; that the ensemble themselves dont feel that they belong to this scene, is only right and reasonable. Must be experienced (not just listened to)." (Magnus Reiten - !Hissig)
